I posted this on my personal facebook yesterday and a lot of people commented. What was funny to me is that GIRLS as well as guys agreed with this! The list in a nutshell is my top 10 characteristics that should raise a huge red flag when meeting women. Not everything is meant literally, but you get my point.

10. Never Date a girl who bad mouths all her ex’s (your next).

9. Never Date a girl who stalks your Facebook/Twitter/Myspace/etc.

8. Never Date a girl that can’t hold a conversation.

7. Never Date a girl that LIVES for the nightlife.

6. Never Date a girl that can’t turn on a stove.

5. Never Date a girl that drama follows.

4. Never Date a girl who cheated on her last man… with you.

3. Never Date a girl who quotes “Gossip Girl” for real life advice.

2. Never Date a girl who is not okay with staying home.

1. Never Date a girl that has ALL male friends.

It was time for a site. All the social networks are  cool and necessary, but I need my own SPACE! Somewhere where I can share my music, progress, thoughts, schedule, videos, and anything else I want to put out there. So JAYDENMUSIC.com is finally LIVE and I’m looking forward to blogging and updating and sharing my experiences with the world. The past year of my life has been FILLED with ups and downs (as all years are)… but this year peaked and dipped like none before. I started 2009 by moving to Arizona the first week of the year! Making music had been missing a very important element… heart. So I decided to pack and relocate to be able to work with my longtime friend and producer, Theory. The journey of an artist is one that must be in motion at all times. When you feel stagnant, it’s almost impossible to make good music. That’s how I felt! A drastic feeling needed drastic change and called for drastic measures. So I found myself in Arizona, 2500 miles away from my home in New Jersey. Out there I started a project which would eventually become the groundwork for my first album. I started letting my experiences form my songs. I started being honest with myself on records. Before that, I was letting too many outside voices influence what I made. Everyone had an opinion on what my image should be, what style of music I made, what concepts I covered, and the way I should write. When you aren’t completely sure about your musical direction, those opinions tend to stay in your mind. And that was the case. I ended up making meaningless music for months. Music that I had no emotional connection with. I listened to them back is if I hadn’t written them. Fast forward again back to Arizona. So having been lost for while, it was time to find ME again. I started writing songs relevant to where I was in my life. The result… great music! Songs that felt REAL and GENUINE! It’s clear what kind of artist I am. I’m driven by connection and emotions, that’s when I feel that I’m being the most honest. I still keep my ear to what’s hot and stay relevant to where music is going, I just put my spin on it. There will always be people trying to guide me in one direction or the next, but I have to be true to myself first. I’m back out east with an arsenal of music that I’m very proud of. I’m in some great situations and I’m excited for the next few months! I want to be the kind of artist that you feel like you know personally. I’m willing to share it ALL! Follow me!
